Oh, come on now, is there any animal person out there who hasn't done something like this at least once. We all talk to our animals. It's naaatural… probably. We can't say we have ever spoken to a lizard in a shower, but our neighbor did hear us call our cat 'you gorgeous stanky murderbaby' once, and that was… yeah, that happened.
